Woman sets herself on fire in Paris
October 26th, 2011 - 9:46 pm ICT by IANSParis, Oct 26 (IANS) A 68-year-old woman tried to immolate herself Wednesday in front of the presidential Elysee Palace where ministers were having a cabinet meeting, but was saved by police in time, a media report said.
The woman demanded to enter the president’s office in the morning to present her housing problem to the ministers. After being refused entry by the guards, she poured alcohol over herself and set the fire, Xinhua reported citing TF1 TV channel.
A police officer was slightly injured when he attempted to douse the fire. The woman was sent to hospital.
