Woman mows down boyfriend after he broke her iPhone
June 7th, 2012 - 9:42 pm ICT by IANSWashington, June 7 (IANS) A 25-year-old woman from New York, under the influence of alcohol, mowed down her teenaged boyfriend and then drove away after he broke her iPhone.
Jasmine Diaz was arrested after 17-year-old Frankie Hernandez’ body was found Wednesday, the Daily Mail reported.
“I ran down to the street and it was too late. His head was crushed. He wasn’t moving. There was blood everywhere,” the victim’s mother, Iris Hernandez, told The New York Daily News.
Police said the incident took place after an alcohol-fuelled row, when Diaz slammed on the accelerator of her car and ran down Hernandez. She then sped off.
The victim’s family said the couple had been dating for over a year but their relationship had been a volatile one.
Diaz used to babysit Hernandez when he was a child, The New York Post said.
Family members said Diaz went into a rage after Hernandez accidentally dropped her iPhone, breaking it.
“She was screaming at him about her cell phone. He was saying it was an accident. She didn’t care. She was hysterical,” Hernandez said.
