Woman jailed for poisoning baby with breast milk
December 30th, 2011 - 6:27 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Moscow, Dec 30 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A 30-year-old Russian woman was Friday sentenced to three and a half years in jail for poisoning her two-week-old baby to death by nursing him with breast milk while she was drunk.
The court in Novgorod region said that Marina Shnip drunk about a litre of porto May 4. The concentration of ethanol in her blood reached 2-2.5 percent. She then twice nursed her baby. The baby died from poisoning soon after.
An analysis showed that the concentration of ethanol in the baby’s blood was 0.4 percent.
