walkerAug 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A fun swim at the Rio Grande river of New Mexico has led to the disappearance of a 32-year old woman named Marriah Walker. On Tuesday, the State police launched a fresh search to track Marriah Walker in and around Rio Grande River and Diablo Canyon area. The police had earlier called off the search and rescue effort after three days of rigorous search failed to trace any whereabouts of Marriah Walker.

Marriah Walker was reported missing on Tuesday, Aug 10. The Glorieta woman, who has two children was last seen around midnight Wednesday when she left home with one of her friends in a car down Buckman Road. Billie Ann Mora, sister of Marriah Walker said to media source that the friend who accompanied the lady to the riverside has mentioned that while they had previously planned to stroll along the bank, Marriah Walker reportedly got excited and started to splash around in the river. Billie Ann Mora said that Marriah Walker had asked her friend to wait by the side of the river while she went down in it. However, after she did return for hours, the friend went to the city and called the police. Although the man was the last person with Marriah Walker, Billie Ann Mora maintained that she does not suspect any foul play and that the friend was helping in the search process.

The family and friends who have joined the state police’s rescue and search team to find Marriah Walker now only hope that somebody had picked her up from the river. The family is hoping against hope to find Marriah Walker alive.
