Woman found dead in mysterious circumstances
May 19th, 2011 - 2:11 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 19 (IANS) A 28-year-old woman was found dead in her house in Rohini in mysterious circumstances early Wednesday morning, police said.
“Naj was found dead with a head injury in her house at Rohini Sector 4 of North Delhi at around 2 a.m. in the morning,” said a senior police officer.
Police received a call that a woman committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan. “When we reached at her house we found that she had a head injury and her body was lying on the ground. We sent the body for post-mortem,” said the officer.
During investigation, we found that Naj was married to Nawed 12 months ago. “It was Nawed’s second marriage after his first wife died two years ago,” said the officer.
Nawed, who works as a bartender, during questioning told police that his wife committed suicide late Tuesday night. He told police that when he entered into the room, he found her hanging. “While trying to bring down the body it fell on the ground and blood started coming from her head,” Nawed told police.
Police, however, were unconvinced by Nawed’s statement and registered a case and initiated an enquiry by a sub-divisional magistrate.
