Woman crushed to death by elevator
December 9th, 2011 - 10:31 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Dec 9 (IANS) A woman in the US was crushed to death while trying to climb out of an elevator that was stuck between floors.
Annette Lujan, 48, was half way out of the elevator when it suddenly started moving. She was trapped between the second and third floor as the lift began to move and suffered crush injuries, the Daily Mail reported.
Fire crews, summoned to an administrative building at Cal State in Long Beach, California, were able to lift the 2,000 elevator off Lujan. They tried administering first aid to her at the scene, but she died later at hospital.
“People that get stuck in elevators need to remain in the elevator,” said fire official Rich Brandt.
