London, Oct 5 (IANS) Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse, who secluded herself in the Caribbean island of St. Lucia earlier this year, spent a fortune on her wild nights out during a seven-month stay there, it has surfaced.
Documents filed at a Britain’s company house show the three companies that the singer owns are now worth $1.6 million vis-a-vis an estimated fortune of $16 million in 2008, as she spent most of it on her wild living on the island, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

“Amy’s voice has made her a fortune, but her lifestyle costs a lot to maintain. There is still cash coming in from royalties. But a new album or tour would really help top up her coffers,” said a source.

The 26-year-old singer, however, still earns royalties from her two albums, “Frank” and “Back to Black” - the latter of which has sold over 11 million copies.

Another source added: “The firms are not the only place she keeps her money.”

Winehouse’s finances are presently controlled by her parents Mitch and Janis.
