Prince William London, May 3 (ANI): Prince William and his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, will be going on a world tour next spring to help ease the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee workload.

The new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will take much pressure off the Queen, who turned 85 last month, but the Palace has insisted that Her Majesty has no plans to scale back her commitments.

It is understood plans have already been made for visits to Australia, New Zealand and the Caribbean, and other Commonwealth countries in Africa and Asia could be added to the couple’s itinerary.

The Queen has told other family members they must rally round as she celebrates 60 years on the Throne, and sources said even Prince Harry, 26, a full-time combat helicopter pilot, has been warned he will be needed.

It is traditional for the Royals to visit Commonwealth countries and realms where the Queen remains head of state.

“Demand for William and Catherine is expected to go through the roof following the incredible reaction to their wedding,” the Sun quoted a Palace source as saying.

“They are keen to settle into married life and only plan the minimum of official engagements.

“But the Jubilee is different. Next year is major for the Royal Family and William and Catherine are keen to play their part in it,” the source added. (ANI)
