William’s pals to stage special fly-past on wedding day

London, Nov 22 (ANI): It seems that Prince William’s Royal Air Force (RAF) pals have some special plans to mark his wedding day.
Wills RAF pals want to stage a special fly-past when he marries his fiancee Kate Middleton.
And the Search and Rescue crews also plan to hover a Sea King chopper over the venue, expected to be Westminster Abbey, and take photos as the couple leave.
Chums of pilot William, 28, at RAF Valley in Anglesey, North Wales, would have to get official clearance.
A fly-past of the Abbey would also involve deviating from their normal flight path through London.
“The Search and Rescue guys like to fly over the church or reception whenever one of the crew ties the knot. They take photos of their buddy and his wife and the other guests from the air, which provide a wonderful memory of the day,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.
“It’s something the boys all love to do and as William is such a part of the team they are determined to do it for him. His wedding will obviously be more high profile than any one else’s but they see no reason for him to miss the tradition.
“He’s one of the boys as far as they’re concerned so they are very hopeful the stunt gets the go-ahead.”
Flying pals are also hoping that William - Flight Lieutenant Wales in the service - will ask them to perform a full guard of honour on his big day.
The source said: “Eight of the guys stand opposite each other and hold their ceremonial swords for the couple to walk through as they leave the church.
“William knows the guys would love to be involved.”
On the fly-past, a senior RAF source said: “We tend to do a fly-past at an event if it coincides with a planned training sortie.
“Obviously if it was something the Royal Household were in favour of then it could easily be arranged,” the source added. (ANI)
