Wife kills hubby over deathbed affair confession (Lead)
May 24th, 2011 - 9:18 pm ICT by IANSLondon, May 24 (IANS) A woman in Britain killed her 75-year-old husband who thought he was on his deathbed after he told her about his affair with her best friend, a media report said Tuesday.
Frail Tony Wakeford made the confession to Patricia, his wife of 50 years, while in hospital with Parkinson’s disease, The Sun reported.
But Wakeford recovered. Patricia, 67, fumed over the confession and, after a row, repeatedly stabbed him with a kitchen knife, the report said.
Patricia, who denies murder, said she went to bed and later found Tony dead on the floor at their home in Effingham, Surrey.
But prosecutor Alexia Durran said forensic evidence showed Patricia had carefully cleaned up pools of blood on the kitchen floor before police arrived.
