What car? - asks drunk Australian driver
December 27th, 2010 - 6:40 pm ICT by IANSMelbourne, Dec 27 (IANS) The police in an Australian state were left stunned when a man driving his car after being drunk five times the legal limit said he was “unaware I was driving a car”.A highway patrol car was in Whitehorse Road Box Hill at about 8.25 p.m. Sunday when a car went past, said Victoria Police spokesman Sergeant Wayne Wilson.
“This was nothing unusual except police attention was drawn to the vehicle as the driver was tooting his horn and waving at police as he drove past,” The Age quoted Wilson as saying.
The driver was pulled over and breath tested. The driver recorded a high blood-alcohol reading and the man had his licence immediately withdrawn.
“When asked why he was driving like that, the man told police he was unaware he was driving a car,” said Wilson.
