Nov 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) For the last few years, South Carolina has been facing a lot of problems in the production and growth of cotton in its state. Probably that is the reason why the state has resolved to adopt an efficient measure that could bring an end to this growing problem. The South Carolina Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation, will hold a cotton growers meeting on December 14, 10 a.m, at Clemson University’s Pee Dee Research and Education Center in Florence.
The USDA firm service agency, will be in charge of addressing the growers in the meeting. They will give the growers an insight about the new and the more advanced measures that would help the plants to resist harsh weathers and bad environmental conditions. They will also give the growers some good tips about how to yield the maximum profit from cotton production, by adopting certain strategic economic measures. The USDA would listen to the cultivation related problems of the growers and give them counseling on a personal basis. The main aim of this meeting is to nullify the challenges faced by cotton growers in the field, and give them optimum help and support. It is a joint endeavor from organizations like, the S.C. Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation, the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service, USDA Farm Service Agency, the Southeast Boll Weevil Eradication Program and Clemson University Regulatory Services.
David Howle, assistant director of Clemson University Regulatory Services, said that it would be a good opportunity for the cotton growers to take inputs and solve their queries by experts. Not only the cultivators of South Carolina, but also those from other states are free to attend the meeting in order to get the best possible counseling, and let their profession prosper.
