Virginia Girl Brittany Mae Smith Goes Missing, Mother Dead

Brittany Mae SmithDec 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Virginia Police have issued an Amber Alert for the missing 12-year-old Roanoke County girl Brittany Mae Smith who disappeared many days ago. The police said that Brittany Mae Smith may have been taken against her will after her mother Tina Smith, was killed at her home. Roanoke County spokeswoman Teresa Hamilton said that the police suspects Brittany Mae Smith may be with Jeffrey Scott Easley who may have lived with them for few days.

The local media reported that the law enforcement officials were called at home after Tina Smith failed to show up at her work. Police said that Tina Smith’s murder has been investigated as a homicide and the medical officials would conduct an autopsy on Tuesday. Teresa Hamilton said that the police suspects that the missing girl might be in “extreme danger”. When Roanoke County police went to the Salem residence on Monday, they found Tina Smith’s body inside the home. A police officer said that after investigation they found out that Brittany Mae Smith had not shown up for school and even her neighbors have not seen her for few days.

Roanoke County police Lt. Chuck Mason said that the police suspects that this can also be a possible case of homicide. On the other hand, the investigators have found out Jeffrey Scott Easley’s 2000 red Chevrolet car but they have not yet found out Tina Smith’s vehicle. Police told the media outlets that they have no idea where is Jeffrey Scott Easley at this time. Roanoke County Police Chief Ray Lavinder said that the police is concerned about the missing girl’s safety as they do not know if she willingly went with that man. At the same time he said that the investigators believe that she is with the man though they are not sure about it.
