Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), May 19 (IANS) The Ayodhya unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Monday accused Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati of supporting Islamic terrorism. “Mayawati is supporting Islamic terrorism to gain minority votes. She is intrinsically anti-Hindu,” VHP leader Ram Vilas Vedanti said at an “anti-terrorism rally” here organised by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Vinay Katiyar.
The VHP also levelled the same allegation against Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Some 300 VHP members, including two dozen sadhus, participated in the rally.
Addressing the rally, Vedanti said: “The houses of Muslims here are permanent dens of terrorists.”
He said Muslims of Faizabad town every Thursday offered flowers on the “graves of terrorists” who were killed during the July 5, 2005 attack on the disputed structure at Ayodhya.
