Lausanne (Switzerland), June 20 (DPA) Netherlands coach Marco van Basten has not made up his mind yet whether to field tragedy-hit Khalid Boulahrouz in a Euro 2008 quarter-final with Russia Saturday. The daughter of Boulahrouz and his wife died in a Lausanne clinic Wednesday shortly after being born prematurely. But he said Thursday that he will stay with the team and that he wants to play.

“It is a very difficult situation for Khalid but he told me he was ready to play,” said van Basten Friday.

Boulahrouz was a starter in all three Dutch group matches which they won against world champions Italy (3-0), France (4-1) and Romania (2-0).

Van Basten said that the Dutch players will wear black armbands in commemoration of Boulahrouz’ daughter’s death.
