harveySep 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Monday, a North Carolina police chief pleaded help from fellow law enforcement officials nationwide to track a sex-offender who is the prime suspect of his 23-year-old daughter’s murder. The dead body of Valerie Hamilton was found over the weekend in a self-storage unit. She was reported missing for a week and was last seen at a bar in Charlotte. Concord Police Chief Merl Hamilton remembered Valerie Hamilton as a “perfect daughter” who is missed dearly. He sought justice for the innocent girl who became a victim of brutal crime.

Authorities mentioned that Valerie Hamilton was spotted at Charlotte bar with Michael Neal Harvey, 34, a registered sex-offender who was convicted of rape in 1996. The police maintains that the surveillance camera of the bar had captured Valerie Hamilton leaving the bar along with a man who appeared like Michael Neal Harvey. An arrest warrant has already been issued against the man who is believed to be still in the Charlotte area. The police who are searching the sex-offender have maintained that he is driving a white 1996 Chevrolet Blazer that bears a North Carolina license plate. The car reportedly bears the ZXE-1756 tag.

A bereaved father, a Concord police officer, asked for help from other police officers and citizens through ABC’s “Good Morning America” show. Merl Hamilton said “They took my daughter…. Play it right, play it by the rules, but y’all get out there and find this guy for me”. Investigators have already interviewed guests at an east Charlotte hotel and conducted search in Michael Neal Harvey’s home in northern Mecklenburg County. However, it has still not been able to trace the sex-offender.
