Usain Bolt smashes world record for 100m sprint
August 17th, 2009 - 3:41 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Berlin, Aug 17 (DPA) Olympic champion Usain Bolt redefined the sprint again with a stunning world record run of 9.58 seconds in the fastest 100m sprint in history.
The Jamaican smashed his mark of 9.69 seconds set exactly one year ago at the Beijing Games as he ran into the history books.
American rival Tyson Gay took silver 9.71 seconds to become the second fastest man ever over the distance. Jamaican Asafa Powell took the bronze in 9.84 seconds.
