US woman wins payout from TSA after airport security exposed her breasts
January 18th, 2011 - 5:24 pm ICT by ANILondon, Jan 18 (ANI): A woman in the US, who sued the Transportation Security Administration after her breasts were exposed during a pat down at a Texas airport, has been awarded a “nominal” payment.
Lynsie Murley, 24, filed a lawsuit against the TSA last year for negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress, and claimed that the May 2008 incident at Corpus Christi airport left her “extremely embarrassed and humiliated”, the Daily Mail reported.
Murley claims that she was “singled out for extended search procedures”, and that a TSA agent frisked her and “pulled her blouse completely down, exposing her breasts to everyone in the area”.
The TSA are accused to have “joked and laughed about the incident for an extended period of time”.
According to The Smoking Gun, Murley will receive the nominal sum from the government as part of a legal settlement.
Her lawyer Jerry McLaughlin refused to divulge exactly how much his client is receiving but said it was a small amount.
He also said that Murley “was never interested in the money”, and that she “would not have filed a lawsuit if TSA officials had simply sent her a letter of apology”.
Hurley was awarded her settlement soon after she gave her deposition to government lawyers. (ANI)
