Washington, Oct 5 (ANI): The United States, reaffirming the need for communication between the US and Pakistan, has stated that it will continue working with the Asian nation.

Interacting with reporters at the US Foreign Office, Spokesman P.J. Crowley also said that the US was aware of the fact that Pakistani military resources were presently engaged in providing relief to the flood-affected people, The News reported

He further said that as the Pakistani people wanted a government that could resolve their issues in a better way, the US was undertaking positive steps to strengthen the incumbent government in Pakistan in this regard.

Talking about the US-Pak standoff on the cross-border air strikes issue, Crowley pointed out that the US had alternative routes for dispatching supplies to NATO forces in Afghanistan.

However, he added that talks between the two countries were underway for restoring NATO supply lines to Afghanistan via Pakistan.

Last week, the three Pakistani army men were killed in an early morning air strike by NATO helicopters at a military post in Kurram Agency, reacting to which, the nation had suspended supply convoys along the Khyber Pass route, and lodged a protest with the NATO command in Brussels, demanding an apology for the killings as well as intrusions in Pakistani territory.
