US tourist killed in Greek island landslide
May 24th, 2011 - 7:29 am ICT by IANSAthens, May 24 (IANS) A 52-year-old American tourist was killed and four were injured in a landslide on the Greek island of Santorini, Xinhua reported.
The accident took place near the old port of the island. The tourists were injured when detached rocks fell on a footpath, according to a Greek Citizen Protection Ministry statement.
Greek media reported that the dead man was a US citizen. His wife and daughter were among the injured people. The two other injured were Mexican nationals.
Santorini island on the Aegean Sea is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece.
