U.S. Teen Birth Rates At All Time Low, Survey Reveals

us-birth-rateDec 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The U.S. survey experts were stunned to see a recent survey, which states that birth rate in United States fell to its lowest point in 2009. The survey showed that very few teenage girls had babies in 2009 than its earlier years. Centers for Disease Control released the report on Tuesday and it stated that the data’s were compiled by National Center for Health Statistics.

The reports show that the birth rate of fell to 39 births per 1,000 for teenage girls whose ages vary between 15-19. The study shows that the birth rate has declined 6% from the previous year and it has been noted as the lowest since 1940. National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy’s chief executive, Sarah Brown, in her statement said that she cannot say whether the teenagers are aware of the U.S. markets or not but she feels that the teenage girls are staying with the families that have experienced the stress of recession. Centers for Disease Control also reported that the trend of low birth rate is going to continue for longer time.

The report also showed that the fertility rate of American women from 68.6 births per 1,000 females in 2008 came down to 66.7 births per 1,000 females in 2009. Moreover, the survey shows that the in 2009, the numbers of births from unmarried mothers have also come down and faced 4% reduction in 2009. The birth rate in 2009 was 50.6% per 1,000 girls who are aged 15-44. The experts reported that this was first decline of the unmarried mothers since 1997. On the other hand, surprisingly, C-sections have gained its popularity and reports suggest that in 2009 one in three babies were born via C-sections.
