US man robs bank of $32K, flees scene on a bicycle!
July 2nd, 2010 - 6:07 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, July 2 (ANI): A Massachusetts man has been accused of robbing a bank of over 32,000 dollars and fleeing the scene on a bicycle.
According to the Department of Justice, Harley Traverse, 25, is said have entered a Citizens Bank branch on Main St, South Kingston, on Rhode Island at about 9.08am (local time) on March 12 and handed a teller a note demanding 50,000dollars, reports The Herald Sun.
The note warned the teller that Traverse was armed and possessed a police scanner.
Traverse allegedly left the bank with about 32,400dollars, riding away on a bicycle.
If convicted, Traverse faces up to 20 years in US federal prison.
Judge Lincoln DAlmond ordered Traverse be detained for a hearing at a later date. (ANI)
