London, Sept 29 (ANI): A man in the US, who tattooed a radio station’s logo across his forehead after a disc jockey jokingly offered listeners a six-figure payout for it, is now bitterly regretting his decision.

David Jonathan Winkelman, 48, from Iowa, was listening to radio station KORB in 2000 when he heard the disc jockey daring listeners to tattoo the hard rock FM station’s call letters and logo on their forehead.

Winkelman and his stepson Richard Goddard promptly went and got the words “Quad City Rocker” and “93 Rock” etched, permanently, into their foreheads at their local tattoo parlour, the Daily Mail reported.

Then they went to the station to collect their cash, but were instead told the call had been a practical joke, a silly radio stunt, and the station had no intention of paying up.

Winkelman and Goddard sued, claiming that the station had sought to have listeners permanently marked so they could be “publicly scorned and ridiculed for their greed and lack of common good sense”.

But within months of filing, Winkelman dismissed the complaint, and a judge dismissed Goddard’s case when he failed to show in court.

Since Winkelman got the tattoo, KORB has changed both its call letters and its format, and is now an adult contemporary station known as KQCS, Star 93.5. (ANI)
