US man calls police to report drunk driver - himself
December 28th, 2010 - 6:31 pm ICT by ANILondon, Dec 28 (ANI): A man in the US called 911 to report a drunken driver and when officers arrived they found it was the caller himself.
According to the Iowa City Press-Citizen, police said Francisco Castro, 25, called the emergency number on Christmas morning, the Daily Mail reported.
He did not speak much English, but authorities mapped the call and were able to locate him.
When officers arrived, they found Castro sitting in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle.
Police say Castro told officers that he called 911 because he thought he was too drunk to drive.
A follow-up test showed his blood-alcohol level was .22, nearly three times the legal limit.
Police also found an open container of hard liquor in the vehicle. (ANI)
