US finance rescue plan clears final hurdle
October 4th, 2008 - 1:45 am ICT by IANSWashington, Oct 4 (DPA) The $700-billion emergency finance rescue plan cleared the final hurdle Friday when the US House of Representatives voted 263 to 171 to adopt a second version of the proposal.The Senate approved the measure on Wednesday, adding sweeteners to sway disenchanted Republicans and Democrats in the lower House who killed an earlier version on Monday.
