US envoy to UAE visits art exhibition
December 18th, 2011 - 12:40 am ICT by IANSSharjah, Dec 17 (IANS/WAM) US ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Michael Corbin visited an art exhibition in Sharjah that featured works of prominent Arab artists like George Bahgory, Faisal Laibi Sahi and Shakir Hassan.
Corbin visited the Barjeel Art Foundation earlier this week to take a look at their current exhibition “Caravan” and to the Maraya Art Centre’s video exhibition “Renditions”.
Located in Sharjah’s cultural district of Al Qasba, the ambassador saw works by contemporary artists Diana Al Hadid, Mohamad Said-Baalbaki and Lara Baladi among others.
After the tour of the “Caravan”, the visitors proceeded to Maraya’s contemporary video art exhibition “Renditions”, where ambassador watched videos by artists like Sama Alshaibi, Nermine Hammam and Karim Al Husseini.
