US, Britain behind Shiraz mosque bombing, says Iran

Tehran, May 13 (IANS) Iran has accused the US and Britain of being behind the bomb blast in a mosque in Shiraz and vowed that it would take legal action against the two countries with the International Court of Justice (ICJ), official Iranian news agency IRNA reported Tuesday. Judiciary spokesman Ali-Reza Jamshidi told a press conference Tuesday the police have arrested 12 people in connection to the mosque blast in Shiraz , the capital of southern province of Fars, April 12 that killed 13 people and injured nearly 200.
The arrested people confessed to thier involvements in the blast and said that “they had links with foreigners, especially those of the United States and Britain,” Jamshidi said.
“The interference of foreigners, especially the US and Britain, is clear and they have trained and supported the terrorists financially,” he added.
The official also said that Iran’s judiciary would follow up the case with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and seek action against the enemy countries.
“Prosecutor General Qorban-Ali Dorri Najaf-Abadi has been assigned to follow up the case inside and outside the country,” he said.
The official also added that the people who carried out the blast would be punished serverely.
