UPA will prove majority in parliament: Kamal NathJuly 8th, 2008 - 5:57 pm ICT by IANS
London, July 8 (IANS) Asking the government to do “what is necessary for the country” vis-a-vis the India-US nuclear deal, Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath Tuesday said that the ruling coalition will prove its majority in parliament. “This was expected. There is nothing surprising or shocking,” Kamal Nath told IANS here after Left parties withdrew support for the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government over the proposed India-US nuclear deal.
“The government must do what is what is necessary for the country, whatever the consequences,” the minister said.
“The fact that the government continues to have the majority will be established on the floor of the house,” he added.
Kamal Nath is here to give away the CNBC Emerging India Awards for small and medium enterprises.
