Shah Rukh Khan Mumbai, April 29 (IANS) A dejected Kolkata Knight Riders’ Bollywood star-owner Shah Rukh Khan returned home Wednesday, vowing that he will not return to South Africa unless his team starts winning in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).
An ardent cricket fan, Shah Rukh cheered for his team for five matches, hoping they will end their losing streak. But it was not to be as Knight Riders bogged down by controversies, languished at the bottom of the standings.

“If my team continues to lose like this, I am not going back to South Africa. I will go only when they play well and win.”

“But once they come back, I’ll call them over and ask what went wrong with them,” Shah Rukh said here.

Shah Rukh’s absence made little difference and Knight Riders lost to Royal Challengers in Durban Wednesday, their four defeats in six matches.

King Khan, however, vouched for his team’s potential, saying it’s a matter of time before they start winning.

“It’s not that KKR is a bad team. It’s a very good team. We have good players. There is immense talent in the team. But unfortunately we didn’t play well. I think the top order should have made a little more effort to change the outcome of the matches.”

John Buchanan’s multiple-captain theory was the talking point before the team left for South Africa where Brendon McCullum replaced Sourav Ganguly as captain of the side. The move caused heartburn among Ganguly fans.

The bad performance prompted Knight Riders team management to send back two players Akash Chopra and Sanjay Bangar from South Africa. Above all these controversies, they had to deal with a mole in the team who leaks juicy dressing room gossips in a blog.

Shah Rukh was confident that the team will return to winning ways.

“I hope they will win couple of matches to regain their confidence.
