New Delhi, May 26 (ANI): Unexpected showers in the national capital yet again brought relief from the heat for the residents of Delhi.
The showers during the summer months have come as a welcome surprise for city dwellers.
Last week, it rained for four consecutive days, drastically decreasing temperatures. But with the weather improving over the weekend, temperatures once again touched uncomfortable levels.
“I am enjoying weather. Although it has come slightly earlier, it’s worth enjoying.” said B A Bansal, a resident.
Although the temperature has dropped to comfortable levels, the rains caused considerable distress to commuters going to work.
“Due to bad weather conditions, I had to face lot of problems. I could not go to my job, and my husband had to take leave as well. Also, I never expected that weather will go this way,” said Preeti, another resident.
Reportedly, the capital has already got more than its share of rainfall before the onset of the monsoons, which is about 40.5mm. Monsoon rains hit Delhi at the end of June.
In April, the weather office said the monsoon was expected to be near-normal, or 99 per cent of the long-term average. (ANI)
