United Nations, Nov 30 (IANS) UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon Tuesday condemned the firing of at least two rockets from southern Lebanon into Israel, and called for “maximum restraint” from the parties concerned.

“The secretary-general urges all parties to exercise maximum restraint and reminds them of their obligation to fully adhere to Security Council Resolution 1701 (2006) and respect the cessation of hostilities agreement,” Ban’s spokesman said in a statement.

Israeli security forces returned artillery fire toward the location where the rockets were launched, the statement added. There was no casualty on either side, Xinhua reported.
