London, Aug 19 (ANI): A British survey has revealed that lotto jackpot winners often live in houses which have the number 3 in their address.

The survey found that winners staying at addresses including number 3 have managed to scoop an eye-popping 77,180,678 pounds since the launch of the National Lottery in November 1994.

Second in line to winning a jackpot were people living in houses that had the number 2.

The top ten that ensured a draw were houses with the numbers 5, 6, 4, 17, 8, 1, 11, and 18.

Those who live in the Medway towns of Kent have the luckiest postcode, ME, with the Essex postcodes of Ilford, IG, and Romford, RM, runners-up.

All three held on to their places at the top for the second year running.

Other areas making the postcode top 10 are: Sunderland (SR), Newcastle (NE), Perth (PH), Teeside (TS), Dartford (DA), Hull (HU), and Bradford (BD).

“Players up and down the country will now be checking the numbers on their front door as well as their ticket to see if it is their lucky day,” the Daily Express quoted a National Lottery spokesman as saying. (ANI)
