UK finalist bags ‘World’s Best Job’
May 6th, 2009 - 1:51 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, May 6 (ANI): UK finalist Ben Southall has won the World’s Best Job competition, organised by Tourism Queensland.
TQ’s official website congratulated the champ in a formal announcement made at Hamilton Island resort.
The 34-year-old will begin his job as caretaker of the Great Barrier Reef Islands on July 1, reports the Courier Mail.
Ben, an events organiser from Hampshire, will shake hands with the 150,000 dollars six-month stint for exploring neighbouring islands, swim, snorkel, discover wildlife, and the locals.
Ben credited other 15 final contestants saying each one of them “had been an absolute winner - it is an extreme honour and I hope I will live up to the role”.
The charity fundraiser will explore the region, and reveal his experiences through Internet blogs and other media channels. (ANI)
