UK boy survives 13ft plunge out of window after imitating his cartoon hero
March 30th, 2011 - 5:27 pm ICT by ANILondon, March 30 (ANI): A 5-year-old British boy has miraculously survived after he fell out of a window while imitating his flying cartoon hero Ben 10.
Thomas Cater had been watching an episode of the American series in an upstairs room at his grandparents’ home in Sothall, Sheffield, when, excited by the action, he clambered onto a windowsill, leaned back and the window flew open, reports the Daily Mail.
Shocked Cater plunged 13ft onto a concrete patio but, incredibly, landed on his feet.
His grandparents, Judith and Adrian Plant, were downstairs watching TV as Thomas climbed onto the first floor windowsill.
“I heard a clatter and bang. I looked out of the kitchen window and saw him underneath. He was laid on the floor crying. Then I went running upstairs and the window was wide open,” Judith said.
Thomas was rushed to Sheffield Children’s Hospital by paramedics. But he was discharged a day later having suffered no injuries except a bruised tongue. (ANI)
