UAE, Western Australia keen to boost commercial cooperation
June 4th, 2011 - 11:33 pm ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, June 4 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates and Western Australia have discussed ways to enhance and strengthen bilateral relations in future.
UAE’s Minister for Foreign Trade Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid al Qasimi and Premier of Western Australia state Colin Barnett have held talks in this regard besides for promoting cooperation in the business, investment and commercial fields.
Sheikha Lubna praised the growth in non-oil trade between UAE and Australia which witnessed a 17.3 percent rise to $2.2 billion last year.
For his part, Barnett said his government was greatly interested in the UAE’s economic diversification drive. He emphasised the importance of UAE as a leading commercial hub.
