- Abu Dhabi, July 11 (IANS) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has offered free vocational training to 20 physically challenged people from the Gaza Strip, WAM news agency reported Saturday.
The Palestinians will get a year’s training at Abu Dhabi’s Rehabilitation and Employment Centres for People with Special Needs under a grant from UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
“The new grant is in line with the UAE policy to support Arab brethren in all circumstances,” said Nasser Al Sharaiqi, coordinator of the rehabilitation centres.
The disable Palestinians would receive training on computer operation, e-design and maintenance of electronic appliances.
The Palestinians who complete their training and wish to work will be provided jobs in the country, the official said.
“The initiative shows the solidarity of the UAE and its people with the people of Palestine at the current circumstances they are experiencing, he said.
