UAE to take part in world police meet in Kerala
May 14th, 2010 - 8:57 pm ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, May 14 (IANS/WAM) Top police officials from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) would take part in an international policing conference to be held in Kerala this September.
Abu Dhabi police have accepted an invitation extended by Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Kerala home minister, during his recent visit to the Gulf nations, to take part in the International Community Policing Conference.
The move would boost cooperation between police in the two regions, the minister had said.
Balakrishnan had also called on the Indian community in the UAE to respect laws, culture and values of the host country, and contribute to its prosperity.
The Kerala minister had visited the Abu Dhabi Police general headquarters, where he was briefed on the work done by the various departments, including community policing, central operations and forensic studies.
The minister was accompanied by the Indian Ambassador to UAE, M.K. Lokesh, and other embassy officials.
