UAE to host international conference on higher education
December 4th, 2009 - 12:03 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Abu Dhabi, Dec 3 (IANS) Academic leaders from around the world will convene at a conference Dec 6-7 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) capital to explore the challenges and opportunities in the field of higher education across the world, WAM news agency reported Thursday.
The “Conference on Higher Education in the Global Age” would be hosted by the NYU Abu Dhabi Institute.
The two-day event will be held at the the Al Mamoura Auditorium.
Issues to be discussed at the conference include the role of universities in fostering intercultural understanding, the need to accommodate surging populations in emerging educational markets, the evolution of universities as interconnected global institutions and universities as engines of sustainable development.
