UAE sends aid to Turkey
December 16th, 2011 - 12:40 am ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, Dec 15 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has dispatched a cargo plane carrying relief materials for the people affected by a recent earthquake in Turkey.
At least 596 people were killed while 4,100 were injured in a devastating 7.2-magnitude earthquake in Turkey’s Van province in October. More than 2,260 buildings collapsed.
The plane sent by the UAE Red Crescent is carrying 100 tonnes of shelter materials.
