UAE minister meets UN chief
September 28th, 2011 - 12:30 am ICT by IANSNew York, Sep 27 (IANS/WAM) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), met UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon during his visit to New York for the 66th session of the UN General Assembly.
The secretary-general appreciated the UAE’s efforts in support of UN activities. He hoped the UAE would continue supporting humanitarian aid in disaster zones, including the Horn of Africa.
The two officials also spoke on the Middle East peace process, especially the latest developments about the Palestinian issue.
Sheikh Abdullah also met his counterparts from Columbia, Belgium, Bangladesh, Nepal, Kazakhstan, South Korea and Brazil.
The officials discussed bilateral relations.
