UAE holds talks with Britain, France

Abu Dhabi, Nov 16 (IANS/WAM) Officials of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have met their counterparts from Britain and France and discussed bilateral issues.

Faris Al Mazrouie, UAE assistant foreign minister for security and military affairs, paid a visit to London and met Thomas Drew, director for national security at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

They discussed cooperation in anti-terrorism operations.

In Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE’s national security advisor and chairman of Abu Dhabi’s executive council, met French Industry Minister Eric Besson and discussed ways to promote trade and industrial partnership between the two countries.

French exports to the UAE reached three billion euros, accounting for a third of France’s total exports to the whole Gulf region, said French ambassador to the UAE Alain Azouaou. Around 300 French companies are operating in the UAE.
