UAE hails Palestinian reconciliation deal
May 5th, 2011 - 12:49 am ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, May 4 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the reconciliation agreement between the Palestinian groups - Fatah and Hamas - and the consensus around the deal.
The consensus became evident through the participation of all Palestinian factions in the signing of this agreement in Cairo Wednesday.
UAE ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhahiri said that UAE blesses the agreement and reaffirms its support for the Palestinian people in every move that will unite their ranks and strengthen their positions to restore their rights and establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
He expressed hope that this agreement constitutes a solid base to unify the Palestinian ranks and achieve the aspirations of the Palestinian people for permanently ending the division.
