- Damascus, Nov 12 (IANS) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) would fund a project for the development of the Neirab Palestinian refugee Camp in the Syrian city of Aleppo, WAM news agency reported Thursday.
The project, funded by UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) includes removing the 60 years old dilapidated portions of the camp to improve the living conditions of Palestinian refugees.
The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has granted $5 million to implement the project which also includes construction of new housing units and a new health center in the camp.
Neirab, where 18,000 refugees live, has some of the worst living conditions among the 58 camps of the UN’s Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
