UAE distributes free Ramdan meals in Palestine
August 31st, 2009 - 11:38 pm ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, Aug 31 (IANS) A charity in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has distributed free meals worth $1.8 million to Palestinians since the start of Ramadan about a week ago, WAM news agency reported.
UAE’s Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has distributed free meals worth 6.88 million UAE dirhams since the start of Ramadan. It also stepped up its efforts to improve the humanitarian conditions in Palestine, the report said Sunday.
Earlier this month, the RCA had sent 550 tonnes of food items to Palestine.
