Abu Dhabi, Sep 21 (Xinhua) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) condemned the suicide blast in Pakistani capital Islamabad Saturday that killed dozens of people. “The UAE strongly condemns this heinous crime, committed by terrorists this evening in Islamabad and led to losses in lives and properties,” the foreign ministry said in a statement late Saturday.

The statement, meanwhile, reaffirmed UAE’s solidarity with the Pakistani government in the face of the terrorist acts and called on the Pakistani people to rally behind their government in fighting terror and ensuring stability in the country.

Seven foreigners were among 62 people killed in the massive suicide bombing that ripped through the Marriott Hotel in the Pakistani capital Saturday. More than 100 people were also injured in the blast.

The blast came just hours after Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari vowed to firmly fight against terrorism and extremism while addressing a joint session of the parliament.
