UAE commanders visit troops in Italy, Afghanistan
September 1st, 2011 - 12:01 am ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, Aug 31 (IANS/WAM) Top UAE commanders have visited the UAE Force in Italy and Afghanistan.
In Italy, the force is participating in the international patrols enforcing the no-fly zone on Libya in line with the UN Security Council Resolution 1973 on protection of Libyan civilians.
Major General Isa Saif Al Mazrouie, deputy chief of staff of the UAE Armed Forces, undertook the visit and conveyed to the UAE Air Force detail best wishes of President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other dignitaries.
In Afghanistan, Major Saif Al Musafri, chief of the UAE Armed Forces’ Operations, visited the UAE force which is securing delivery of humanitarian assistance, assisting in reconstruction efforts and maintaining security and stability in the Asian country.
He also conveyed to the force warm Eid greetings from the UAE leaders.
