Abu Dhabi, Aug 25 (IANS) The United Arab Emirates and China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cultural cooperation, WAM news agency reported Tuesday.
“The MoU is part of Abu Dhabi’s strategy to promote cultural diplomacy and dialogue among different civilisations and peoples,” said Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, chairman of Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH).
The MoU stated Abu Dhabi’s readiness to cooperate closely with the Chinese Ministry of Culture, by way of multi-cultural events and activities, he added.
Sheikh Sultan also highlighted Abu Dhabi’s intense efforts on the preservation and promotion of UAE culture and heritage.
The agreement will pave the way for a number of projects, including exhibitions on history, art and culture, in addition to performing arts and theatre activities, Sultan said.
