UAE airline wins Airbus award
June 12th, 2011 - 10:56 pm ICT by IANSSharjah, June 12 (IANS/WAM) Air Arabia, a low-cost airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has won an award from aircraft manufacturing giant Airbus for “operational excellence”.
The Sharjah-based Air Arabia won the A-320 Family Operational Excellence Award from Airbus for the year 2009-2010.
The airline received the award for achieving the highest level of A-320 aircraft utilisation in the world for a fleet of less than 30 aircraft.
The award was given in Toronto, during Airbus’s biannual symposium of all worldwide operators of the A-320.
“All of us here at Air Arabia are proud to accept this prestigious award. We have always sought to lead the industry not only with our innovative value for money product, but also in providing operational excellence for our customers,” said Adel Ali, chief executive officer of Air Arabia.
