U. S. President Barack Obama, Other Politicians Criticize Arizona Shooting

Tuscon, Jan 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords was in a meeting with her supporters on Saturday morning when an assailant opened fire and shot her in his head and also wounded other members present in the meeting. The Arizona shooting, which left 6 dead and many others injured shocked the whole nation and politicians from all over the country strongly criticized the gory affair. Jan Brewer, the Governor of Arizona said that he is deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident and he ordered that the flags in the whole state should be flown at half staff. President Barack Obama expressed his sadness and said that such a violent act has no place in a peaceful society.
John Boehner, the House Speaker called it a sad day for the country and said that an attack on one public servant is an attack on the people who serve the nation. Nancy Pelosi, the House Minority Leader said that the Arizona shooting is a tragic incident while praising Gabrielle Giffords as a courageous and brilliant lawmaker of the party. Senator John McCain called the gunman a “wicked person” and said that he would be condemned by people across the nation for his nefarious act.
Representative Jerrold Nadler, previously in one of his interviews said that Gabrielle Giffords received death threats and criticisms from people earlier this year owing to her debate regarding health care reform. Barney Frank, a Congressman said that Gabrielle Giffords was shot while she was serving her own country. The House of Representatives has postponed all its major debates and legislative action so that the politicians are able to take all the necessary actions against the tragic Arizona shooting.
