Tyler in rehab for foot injury, not drug or alcohol treatmentMay 30th, 2008 - 12:56 pm ICT by admin
London, May 30 (IANS) Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler cleared up rumours about his health saying he checked into a rehab because he had a series of foot injuries, not to cure alcohol or drug problems. It was reported that Tyler, who has had a history of drug and alcohol addiction, was facing the same problem again. But Tyler says the stories are overblown and that he is recovering from painful surgery.
Contactmusic.com reports Tyler as saying: “The doctors told me the pain in my feet could be corrected, but it would require a few surgeries over time. The ‘foot repair’ pain was intense, greater than I’d anticipated.
“The months of rehabilitative care and the painful strain of physical therapy were traumatic and I really needed a safe environment to recuperate where I could shut off my phone and get back on my feet.”
Tyler’s bandmate Joe Perry is recovering from knee replacement surgery.
